Key Responsibilities

Digital and Print Communications

  • Create, update, and optimize pages on the Mission Center WordPress website for usability and accessibility. Implement an SEO strategy.
  • Schedule and publish social media content using Hootsuite or similar tools.
  • Share relevant updates across Facebook pages, and groups.
  • Build and schedule weekly email NewsBrief and other campaigns using Mailchimp.
  • Collect and document user engagement and track performance metrics.
  • Recommend improvements through automation and integrations.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, flyers, and other materials.
  • Produce and distribute Inland Stream Newsletter print edition and other mailers, postcards, and print communications.


Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support for Mission Center staff.
  • Attend and participate in Zoom Mission Center staff meetings, Pastor/CFO meetings, and Advisory Council meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, reports, and other meeting materials.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence and internal communications for pastors, CFOs, leadership councils, and congregations.
  • Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) for records.
  • Manage permissions and access for shared Google Drive folders and docs.


Event Planning & Support

  • Provide tech support for Zoom, livestreams, or hybrid events.
  • Support planning, logistics, and registration support for Mission Center events, including Mission Center Conference, Reunion, retreats, and camps.
  • Manage onsite logistics at events (sign-in, supplies, and volunteer coordination).
  • Attend and participate in major Mission Center events as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Record and reconcile all Mission Center income and expenses for monthly reporting.
  • Produce quarterly financial reports for the Mission Center Council and Mission Center Staff in consultation with the MCP/MCFO.
  • Track activity in Mission Center investments (AIP).
  • Pay Mission Center bills and prepare checks for MCFO signature.
  • Ensure accurate allocations, proper documentation, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Coordinate accounting for events with activity business managers.
  • Process contributions in the Mission Center Expansion/General category and handle returned contribution envelopes.
  • Maintain financial records in alignment with clean annual audits.


Support for Staff & Ministers

  • Coordinate reimbursements for ministerial staff and visiting ministers.
  • Process oblation aid reimbursements from headquarters.
  • Support congregational financial officers in data entry and reporting.
  • Serve as the Shelby financial module expert, providing guidance and troubleshooting as needed.


Compliance & Annual Reporting

  • Coordinate annual Workers Compensation reporting for the Mission Center, congregations, and campgrounds.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with church policies and financial best practices.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute financial documents for leadership team meetings, councils, and committees.
  • Support financial communications and respond to congregational inquiries.
  • Represent and model faithful financial stewardship by communicating the connection between generosity and the mission of the church.
  • Help congregations and individuals see how their giving supports Christ’s mission and the principles of Disciple’s Generous Response.

Summary Description: The Administrative and Communications Coordinator provides vital support in managing communications, digital platforms, and administrative tasks. They are responsible for keeping information organized, communication flowing, and events running smoothly, while also serving as the first point of contact for congregational leaders.
